PNC Foundation Award Supports Novel Research at Pitt

GPNC Foundation will support promising, innovative research at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute (UPCI) with a PNC Foundation Innovation Award.

The award was announced Wednesday at a ceremony where UPCI Council members demonstrated their support of cancer research by signing bricks that will become part of the Hillman Cancer Center.

University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute officials gathered on Wednesday to announce the PNC Foundation Innovation Award. From left are Sy Holzer, president of PNC Bank, Pittsburgh, and chairman of the UPCI Council; Cam Bonifay, general manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates and a member of UPCI Council; Elsie Hillman, philanthropist; and Ronald Herberman, M.D., director of the UPCI.
