Light! The Industrial Age 1750-1900 is being presented at Carnegie Museum of Art. It brings together, for the first time, more than 300 works of art, as well as scientific and historic objects from the 18th and 19th centuries. Light! was organized in partnership with Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum. This is Light!’s only U.S. venue.

Rethinking History, a free photography exhibition, includes two bodies of work by artist Larry Gawel, one using educational filmstrips and encyclopedia texts, the other utilizing Super 8 film that had belonged to his father.

A high school student athletic training workshop is being sponsored by UPMC Center for Sports Medicine. The three-day workshop is for high school students interested in exploring a career in athletic training, physical therapy, and other sports medicine-related occupations.

A seminar for female athletes, parents, and coaches will focus on topics that pertain to female athletes, with a special emphasis on preventing knee injuries. Physical examinations and musculo-skeletal screenings will be held for high school athletes. A $20 fee covers both the physical exam and musculoskeletal screening, which include tests of muscle strength and flexibility, agility, range of motion in major joints, posture, and body composition.
