Pitt Chancellor Mark A. Nordenberg recently delivered remarks at the opening of the John P. Murtha Pavilion in Johnstown, one of more than 40 UPMC cancer centers being established throughout the region. Named in honor of Congressman John P. Murtha (D-12) for his commitment to cancer research, the new facility provides exceptional care and state-of-the-art treatments under one roof, including medical oncology, the latest in imaging and radiation technology, cancer education services, and a meditation garden for patients and their families. The pavilion is located adjacent to UMPC Lee Regionals MRI Center in Johnstown.
