U.S. Senator John F. Kerry (D-Mass.), the Democratic Party’s presumptive presidential nominee, spoke April 16 on Bigelow Boulevard outside of the William Pitt Union. Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell and rock singer Jon Bon Jovi introduced the senator. Behind Kerry are, from right to left, his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry; stepson Andre Heinz; former Pittsburgh Steeler Franco Harris; stepson Chris Heinz; and musician Tom DeLonge from the band blink 182. Kerry’s appearance was sponsored by the Pitt organization Students for Political Opportunity.
