University officials, trustees, and contractors broke ground June 2 for a new residence hall on the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown campus. From left are Park Rankin, University architect; Matt Mazonkey, UPJ Student Senate president; Jerry W. Samples, UPJ vice president for academic and student affairs; Pitt Provost James V. Maher; UPJ President Albert L. Etheridge; E. Jeanne Gleason, chair of the UPJ Advisory Board and a University of Pittsburgh trustee; Robert Murray, principal of Renaissance 3 Architects; Jake Stiffler, UPJ director of housing and residence life; and Patrick Kelly, director of business development at TEDCO General Contractors. Completion is scheduled for fall 2005.
