Maggie & Stella’s First Birthday

Maggie & Stella’s Cards & Gifts, at 209 Oakland Ave., Sennott Square, is celebrating its first year of operation. The Pitt-owned-and-operated shop stocks a wide range of cards plus distinctive gifts starting at $10. The shop is named after Margaret and Stella Stein, the first women to receive Pitt undergraduate degrees. The Stein sisters graduated with identical grades, the highest in the University’s Class of 1898. Margaret went on to earn the Master of Arts degree, the first granted to a woman at Pitt.
