A delegation of six officials from China’s Wuhan University, including its president, Hailiang Gu, visited Pitt Oct. 13-14. Gu met with Pitt Chancellor Mark A. Nordenberg, and the two executives signed an agreement to create a five-year program in library and information sciences that will allow students from each university to study at the other—and to earn a bachelor’s degree from their home university and a master’s degree from the other university. Members of the Chinese delegation met with several Pitt officials, including those from the School of Information Sciences, the School of Education, the School of Medicine, the Asian Studies Center, the Confucius Institute, and the University Center for International Studies. Pictured (from left) are Nordenberg, Gu, and Stephen R. Tritch, chair of Pitt’s Board of Trustees.     A delegation of six officials from China’s Wuhan University, including its president, Hailiang Gu, visited Pitt Oct. 13-14.
