Pitt’s ACC Debut at Heinz Field

University of Pittsburgh Band Director Brad Townsend strikes up the band at halftime during the Sept. 2 Pitt-Florida State University matchup held at Heinz Field. The game marked Pitt’s debut as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference, which is generally regarded as one of the top athletic and academic conferences in the country. The evening also marked Townsend’s debut at the North Side stadium—hired in January, Townsend succeeds the legendary Jack R. Anderson, who directed Pitt’s band from 1995 until 2012.
