Students and faculty of Pitt’s Schools of the Health Sciences are sponsoring a three-game basketball competition on Nov. 6 in the Petersen Events Center to raise money for Pitt’s annual United Way fundraising campaign.

Admission to the event, which is scheduled from 4:30 to 7 p.m., is free. There will be a raffle for seven basketballs autographed by Jamie Dixon and Suzie McConnell-Serio, head coaches for Pitt’s men’s and women’s basketball teams, respectively. In addition, participation in a foul-shot prize contest will be free to anyone who has already pledged to the United Way; those who have not pledged can enter the contest for $25 a shot.

Game One will pit medical students against medical residents. In Game Two, School of Medicine faculty will compete against Health Sciences faculty and students. For Game Three, the winners of the first two games will play one another in a final competition.
