Issue Date:
May 30, 2016

Last week’s hot sunshine and a fountain’s cool water provided the perfect enticements to go barefoot and rest upon the fountain’s edge. Hot weather has finally arrived, and the Mary Schenley Memorial Fountain—in front of the Frick Fine Arts Building—is the perfect backdrop for a momentary pause. The 1918 bronze-and-granite sculpture, also known as A Song to Nature, features a reclining Pan, the Greek god of shepherds, and a female singer above him playing a lyre. (Photo by Emily O'Donnell)
