Chancellor Gallagher delivered the keynote address during a June 17 event aimed at raising awareness of—and stopping—gender violence. The Father’s Day Pledge signing event was sponsored by Southwest PA Says ‘No More,’ which is conducting a statewide campaign to showcase regional leaders who are standing up and speaking out against gender violence. Chancellor Gallagher held a large pledge card, which read, “I say ‘No More’ because there is no place for fear in a place of learning.” Among the many individuals who signed the pledge with Chancellor Gallagher were Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and Pittsburgh City Council President Bruce Kraus. Seated behind the lectern are Robert Nelkin, United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania president and CEO, and Sally Wiggin, WTAE news anchor and the event’s emcee. (Photo by Emily O'Donnell)
