Pitt Alum Cara Masset Named Director of University News
Cara Masset has been named director of University News and executive editor of the Pitt Chronicle in Pitt’s Office of Public Affairs.
Previously, she served as senior editor of Pitt Magazine and as a news assistant with the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Masset earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nonfiction writing from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s oldest academic honor society.
Her writing accolades include a 2011 First Place award from the Pittsburgh Black Media Federation for “Love’s Palette” published in Pitt Magazine and the 2007 Journalism Award for Excellence from the Carnegie Science Center.
