Awakening Their Own Leonardo: About 3,700 of Pitt’s new and transfer students gathered to recreate Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, a 15th-century drawing that blends both art and science in a study of human proportion. The Aug. 26 event on the Petersen Events Center’s lawn is an annual tradition for Pitt’s incoming class during New Student Week. Previous years have seen students form a human globe and a Pitt panther. This year’s image pays homage to Pitt’s Year of the Humanities in the University. Welcome, Class of 2019!
