Scene: Artful Opening
Art lovers turned out May 9 for the opening reception for Encounters: Art in the City, an exhibition at the University Art Gallery that runs through May 23. The artwork was created by local 10th-graders who took part in a special outreach program in which they were taught about public art by five Pitt undergraduate students majoring in the history of art and architecture.
