Scene: Cool Jazz in the Hill
Multi-instrumentalist Mino Cinelu shared his gift of music with the public at the Hill House Association Kaufmann Center. His Nov. 7 appearance at the Hill District venue came as part of the 45th Annual Pitt Jazz Seminar and Concert’s community outreach program. In addition to playing the guitar, Cinelu is an innovative percussionist, and he lit up the Carnegie Music Hall stage that night during the annual Pitt Jazz Concert with his playing and vocal performance. He was joined by seven other international musicians, who were on campus all week giving free public seminars. Led by Pitt Jazz Studies Director Geri Allen, the celebration of jazz is the longest-running event of its kind in the country. (Photo by Emily O'Donnell)
