Snapshot: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

Issue Date:
January 25, 2017

On Monday, January 16, more than 900 students and staff honored Dr. King's legacy. After gathering in the William Pitt Union in the morning — where state Senator Jay Costa pitched in to help prepare volunteers — groups scattered around Pittsburgh to serve their community. The day was sponsored by PittServes.

Among many other groups, students from the Pitt Dance Marathon and Theta Nu Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority prepared packs of childhood necessities at Cribs for Kids.
